Drugs and Cash Haul Sees Darren Taylor Jailed
Massive Bust in Everton Home Raid
Police struck gold when they raided Darren Taylor’s Everton home, uncovering a stash of drugs and a large haul of cash. The haul came after officers stopped Taylor, 39, in Retford, discovering bags of drugs and a baseball bat in his vehicle. They also found a can of CS spray in the car.
Taylor Arrested and Jailed
The 39-year-old was pulled over on North Road, Retford, on the morning of 18 October 2019. He later pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply a Class A drug and possession of offensive weapons. On Wednesday 23 November 2022, Taylor was sentenced to two years and six months behind bars at Nottingham Crown Court.
Police Praise Teamwork, Call for Public Help
“Taylor’s conviction and sentencing came as a result of diligent police work on a complex investigation,” said Inspector Hayley Crawford, District Commander for Bassetlaw. “It involved a really good joint effort between Retford Neighbourhood Policing Team and Response colleagues.”
Inspector Crawford added: “Criminals like Taylor bring misery to our communities and vulnerable people. We won’t stop pursuing those who fuel drug crime. Everyone has a part to play. If you suspect drug dealing, report it on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
