On the 31st of January 2023, the victim went into Lloyds Bank on Week Street and inserted his card into a cashpoint.
He was interrupted at this point by a man who began speaking to him. The victim, who is in his 70s, later discovered that £500 had been withdrawn without his knowledge.
The Kent Crime Squad launched an investigation, and on Thursday, March 9, a woman was arrested in connection with the incident.
Chantal Ahmed, of Mayville Road, Ilford, Greater London, was later charged with fraud conspiracy.
On Friday, March 10, the 54-year-old appeared in Medway Magistrates’ Court and was remanded to Maidstone Crown Court on April 5.
