Blaze Erupts at Midhurst Hotel in Dead of Night
Firefighters rushed to a major roof fire at a hotel on North Street, Midhurst, shortly after 1am on Thursday 16 March. The blaze quickly spread to nearby buildings, sparking a massive emergency response.
Massive Firefighting Effort Underway
Joint Fire Control dispatched 15 fire engines, two aerial ladder platforms, two water carriers, an off-road vehicle, and a high-volume pump to tackle the inferno. Crews faced a fierce fire in the hotel’s roof space that was already creeping into adjoining properties.
Firefighters are battling hard to contain the flames and expect to be at the scene for hours.
Evacuations and Road Closures in Place
