A seventh gang member has been locked up for their role in smuggling over 15 tonnes of cocaine into the UK disguised in pallets of frozen chicken.
Drug Ring Busted by Yorkshire Crime Unit
1 Maan, 24, from Churchbank Way, Dewsbury, was caught up in a nationwide operation targeting a conspiracy to import and distribute huge quantities of Class A drugs.
The Yorkshire and Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit (YHROCU) estimates the gang trafficked a staggering 123 kilograms of cocaine in this bust alone.
Three Years Behind Bars for Liam Harrington
Another gang member, Liam Harrington, has been sentenced to three years in prison for his involvement.
Inside the Cocaine Operation
- Police uncovered a drug packing area disguised on a dressing table, stacked with kilogram blocks of cocaine.
- Bags brimming with kilo blocks of cocaine were seized on site.
- A warehouse filled with discarded frozen chicken boxes was also raided, exposing the hidden drug stash.
This sting marks a major blow to drug trafficking networks operating in Yorkshire and beyond.
