Cold-Blooded Killer Chase Griffith Jailed for 30 Years Over Sam Brown Murder

Chase Griffith, 22, from Ashfield Parade, N14, was sentenced to 30 years at the Old Bailey on Friday, 12 January. He was found guilty of murdering 28-year-old Sam Brown following a trial that concluded on 29 November.

Fled to Saint Lucia After Shooting

Griffith fled to Saint Lucia after shooting Sam Brown, but was caught and extradited back to the UK thanks to the efforts of the Met Police and the National Crime Agency.

Detective Chief Inspector Kelly Allen, lead investigator, said: “This sentence ends a long and painstaking investigation. Sam Brown was gunned down in the street by Chase Griffith in a revenge attack after a stabbing earlier that night. Griffith fled the country, but thanks to CCTV and forensic evidence, we built a watertight case leading to his arrest and extradition. My thoughts are with Sam’s family.”

Brutal Murder After Party Turns Deadly

The court heard that both men attended a party with around 150 guests in Cheney Row Park, Walthamstow, on the night of 23 July 2022. Early on 24 July, a stabbing happened at the event. Griffith, believing Sam was involved, shot him in the street.

Sam managed to stagger into his car and drive a short distance before collapsing. He was rushed to hospital but sadly died from his injuries.

Desperate Attempt to Cover His Tracks Fails

After the shooting, Griffith fled to Southgate, disposed of a distinctive tracksuit, then flew to Saint Lucia from Gatwick Airport on 27 July. He altered his appearance, including chopping his unique hairstyle, to avoid detection. He stayed there until forced back to the UK on 8 December.

DCI Allen added: “Many witnesses were at the party, but few spoke out initially. Through forensic CCTV and mobile phone data, we proved beyond doubt that Griffith committed this murder. It’s a relief that justice has been served and a dangerous man is behind bars.”

Family Mourns but Vows to Move On

Sam’s family said: “We will never have closure on that night, but we must carry on—just as Sam would want. He will always be our angel and forever remembered.”
