Man Arrested After Leah Falls from Moving Vehicle

A 25-year-old Kirklees man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and drug driving offences. He remains in police custody as the investigation continues.
Major Police Investigation Underway
The Police Homicide and Major Enquiry Team (HMET) are leading the probe. Road closures overnight at the scene allowed officers to gather vital evidence and witness statements.
Detective Superintendent Marc Bowes said, “We are continuing extensive enquiries into this incident in which a woman has lost her life. A man remains in custody, and we’re appealing for witnesses or anyone with mobile phone or CCTV footage to come forward.”
He added, “We want to speak to anyone near Denby Dale Road and Hollin Lane between 8.20 pm and 8.40 pm who saw anything or captured footage, especially of a white Transit van just before the incident. Your information could be crucial.”
