Police Clampdown on Nuisance Drivers in Snodland and Larkfield This February
From 6pm on Friday, 9 February until 9am on Sunday, 11 February 2024, police will crack down on dangerous and anti-social driving across key areas in Snodland and Larkfield. This proactive move targets persistent vehicle nuisance and aims to protect local communities.
Targeted Areas Under Watch
- Brook Street, Sortmill Road, and the bypass in Snodland
- New Hythe Lane, Leybourne Way, Lunsford Lane, Papyrus Way, and Bellingham Way in Larkfield
- Including side roads, public and private car parks and industrial units
Why The Crackdown?
Authorities are acting in response to a surge in local complaints about noisy vehicles, reckless driving, and dangerous behaviour. The new orders give officers powers to stop offenders and swiftly move on anyone involved in anti-social driving.
“Residents have continued to report concerns about noise, skidding, and general anti-social driving,” said Inspector Terry Newman from the West Kent Community Safety Unit. “We are worried about the risks posed to other road users and the damage to community wellbeing.”
“These orders allow our officers to disperse troublemakers, arrest repeat offenders, and seize vehicles if people persist with their dangerous antics.”
Police Warn: Bet On Being Moved On – Or Seized
Anyone caught causing a nuisance risks immediate removal. Repeat offenders face arrest and the possibility of losing their cars altogether. This tough stance aims to stamp out reckless driving and protect residents’ peace of mind across Snodland and Larkfield.
