Third Weekend of Crackdown on Nuisance Vehicles in Larkfield and Snodland
For the third weekend running, a tough dispersal order is back to tackle nuisance vehicles causing chaos in Larkfield and Snodland.
Where and When the Order Applies
The order kicks in from 6pm on Friday, 16 February, until Sunday, 18 February 2024. It covers hotspots including Brook Street, Sortmill Road, and the bypass in Snodland, plus New Hythe Lane, Leybourne Way, Lunsford Lane, Papyrus Way, and Bellingham Way in Larkfield.
The same areas hit over the last two weekends will once again see restrictions on side roads, public and private car parks, and industrial estates.
Police Crackdown on Reckless Driving and Anti-Social Behaviour
The police say the move is a response to soaring complaints about nuisance vehicles and dangerous driving. Officers now have the power to disperse troublemakers and stop anti-social behaviour before it escalates.
Inspector Terry Newman from West Kent Community Safety Unit warned: “Following a number of reports of anti-social driving in west Kent, including drifting and driving at excessive speed, a dispersal order is in place for a third weekend running.”
Newman added that persistent offenders risk arrest and could have their vehicles seized if they ignore the order and return. It’s a no-nonsense approach to keep locals safe.
Fines and Enforcement Backed by Council
Kent Police are working with Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council to catch rule-breakers. They’re gathering evidence on Public Spaces Protection Order breaches to issue fines even after the fact.
The message is clear: reckless driving won’t be tolerated, making roads safer for all in Larkfield and Snodland.
