A four-car collision on the M25 near Sevenoaks caused significant delays and miles of traffic earlier today (February 20).
The incident occurred between junctions four and five just before 6:15 am, leading to swift responses from both police and National Highways officers who attended the scene to manage the aftermath of the crash.
Authorities promptly implemented closures in the affected areas to ensure the safety of motorists and facilitate the necessary procedures following the collision. Kent County Council Highways issued warnings to drivers via social media platforms, urging them to anticipate delays in the surrounding areas and approach the scene with caution.
The crash resulted in extensive traffic congestion, stretching up to six miles, and causing considerable delays for commuters. However, as of the latest updates, the congestion has subsided and traffic flow in the area has returned to normal.
Fortunately, despite the severity of the collision, no injuries were reported among those involved. Kent Police confirmed their response to the incident, stating, “Police were called at 6:14 am on Tuesday, February 20, to a collision involving four cars on the M25 between junctions 4 and 5. Patrols and highways officers attended the scene where no injuries were reported. Two of the cars were moved to the hard shoulder to await recovery.”
