A devastating fire tore through a farm building in Ashey on the Isle of Wight in the early hours of Monday morning, leaving behind significant damage.
Firefighters are currently at the scene at East Ashey Manor Farm, located off Ashey Road and East Ashey Lane, continuing their efforts to contain the aftermath of the blaze.
The fire, which reached dimensions of 15 meters by 25 meters at its peak, engulfed an agricultural structure, resulting in the destruction of its roof.
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service received the emergency call at 12:46 am, prompting a swift response from four fire engines dispatched from Sandown, Ryde, Newport, and Shanklin. Additionally, two officers and a water carrier rushed to the site to assist in the firefighting efforts.
Firefighters deployed hydrants, jets, and hose reels to combat the flames and prevent further spread of the fire.
As of now, one fire appliance remains at the scene, monitoring the situation to ensure the safety of the area.
