Thieves and Knife Carrier Face Justice in Bromley and Bexley Courts
On Tuesday, May 28, 2024, Bromley and Bexley Magistrates’ Courts dealt with a slew of cases involving theft, weapons possession, and harassment. Offenders from Erith, Plumstead, Eltham, and Orpington faced the music for a range of crimes.
Meat Thief and No-Show Bail Skipper
Charles Vincent, 33, from Colyers Lane, Erith, admitted stealing £95 worth of meat from the Co-op in Eltham on April 29. But Vincent vanished after being released on bail.
A warrant is now out for his arrest after he failed to turn up in court.
Knife Possession and Booze Theft
- Bikas Lama, 40, from Ancona Road, Plumstead, pled guilty to carrying a kitchen knife in public on November 16. He scored a one-year community order.
- Camille Hedges, 46, of Glendale Road, Erith, admitted nicking two bottles of vodka and a bottle of wine from Sainsbury’s in Bexleyheath on May 10. She also received a one-year community order.
Hate Harassment and Bail Busting
Matthew Wright, 31, from Broadwater Gardens, Orpington, was found guilty of racially or religiously aggravated harassment in Sidcup on September 10.
Like Vincent, warrants have been issued for Wright’s arrest after he skipped bail.
