Doncaster Man Jailed for Brutal Unprovoked Bar Attack
A Doncaster thug has been locked up for brutally assaulting a man in a shocking, unprovoked attack in a city centre bar.
Victim Left Fighting for Life After Savage Two-Punch Blow
Lee Dove’s victim suffered a fractured skull and two traumatic brain bleeds after a savage two-punch attack in February 2024. The assault left the man critically injured, with only a slim chance of survival.
Dove fled the scene but was caught less than two hours later at his home by police.
CCTV Captures Horrific Attack, Leading to Swift Arrest
Investigators obtained CCTV footage showing Dove’s vicious punch spree in full. Detective Inspector Mark Nicholson-Gee, who leads Doncaster’s Reactive CID, blasted Dove’s “brutality [which] came without warning.”
“He is lucky he didn’t take another man’s life. The victim was left unconscious and bleeding out on the floor. He must have been in unimaginable pain during that traumatic ordeal.”
Justice Served: Dove Jailed for Nearly Three Years
Dove, 37, of Greenfield Lane, Balby, pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm without intent at Sheffield Crown Court on 7 March 2024.
Last Friday (31 May), the court sentenced him to two years and nine months behind bars. A restraining order was imposed, banning any contact with the victim.
Detectives confirmed the victim has since been discharged from hospital and is making a full recovery.
Inspector Nicholson-Gee added:
“I hope this custodial sentence brings some justice and allows the victim to move on from this horrendous ordeal at the hands of Dove.”
