Woman Bailed After Lewisham Man Found Dead
A 34-year-old woman has been remanded in custody after being charged with the murder of a 72-year-old man in Lewisham. The victim, Christopher Brown, was found dead at a Polsted Road home, suffering blunt force trauma.
Habiba Naveed Charged with Murder
Metropolitan Police confirmed Habiba Naveed, 34, has been charged with Mr Brown’s murder. The pair were known to each other. A post-mortem revealed blunt force trauma as the cause of death.
Police launched an investigation after Mr Brown’s body was discovered early on Thursday. Naveed, a resident on the same street, was arrested later the same day and charged on Friday.
Custody and Court Appearances
Naveed appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Saturday and was remanded in custody. She is due to appear at the Old Bailey this coming Tuesday.
Police Seek Public’s Help
Detective Chief Inspector Kate Blackburn, leading the probe, confirmed no one else is currently sought in connection with the killing.
