Tragic Kilburn Crash: Pedestrian Killed in Horror Lorry Smash
Police are hunting witnesses after a fatal collision in Kilburn left a 71-year-old pedestrian dead.
Accident Details
The smash happened at 3:23pm on Saturday, 25 November, at the busy junction of Kilburn High Road and Cambridge Avenue. A lorry crashed into Thomas Murphy, an Irish national living in Maida Vale.
Emergency crews, including London Ambulance Service paramedics, rushed to the scene. Sadly, Murphy was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed.
Lorry Driver Co-operates as Police Investigate
The lorry driver stopped immediately after the crash and has spoken with police. No arrests have been made so far. An inquest into Mr Murphy’s death has been opened and adjourned at Barnet Coroner’s Court.
Police Call on Witnesses for Info
Detective Sergeant Becca Collens, from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our investigation is ongoing, including reviewing CCTV footage, but we are still looking to contact two key witnesses who spoke to officers at the scene but have not yet been reached. I urge these men, and anyone else who witnessed the incident or has relevant CCTV or other evidence, to contact us.”
