Man Dead After East Street Stabbing Shock
Police rushed to East Street, SE17, just before 11am on Sunday following reports of multiple stabbings. Tragic scenes unfolded as officers and ambulance crews found three injured victims.
One Man Dies at the Scene
A man in his 60s was quickly arrested at the scene and is now in police custody. Sadly, one of the victims was declared dead at the scene. His identity is yet to be confirmed, and police are working to inform his family.
Two Others Rushed to Hospital
Two other victims, a man and a woman, were taken to hospital for urgent treatment. Their current condition is not yet known.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Commander Peter Stevens said: “Tragically, a man lost his life this morning. Officers are working hard to establish exactly what happened and provide support to his family. My thoughts and sincere sympathies are with them and the injured.
“The investigation is at a very early stage. One man was rapidly arrested. Nobody else is currently being sought.
“This incident is not being treated as terrorism. Enquiries continue, led by dedicated detectives from Specialist Crime.
“Thank you to those who have already shared information. We urge anyone with footage, information, or who witnessed the events to get in touch.”
