Man in 50s Killed in Horror M25 Crash Near Orpington
A man in his 50s has died after being struck by a lorry on the M25 near Orpington this morning, December 18.
The tragic smash happened just before 9:45 AM on the clockwise carriageway close to junction 4. Emergency crews, including kent.police.uk" target="_blank" rel="noopener" title="Kent Police" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Kent Police, rushed to the scene but sadly, the man was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
Police Confirm No Suspicious Circumstances
Kent Police have ruled out any suspicious activity surrounding the incident.
A spokesperson said:
“Kent Police was called at 9:45 AM on December 18, after a pedestrian was struck by a lorry on the clockwise M25 near junction 4. Officers attended, along with other emergency services, and a man aged in his 50s was confirmed deceased at the scene. There are no suspicious circumstances, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
The victim’s next of kin have been notified, and an investigation is underway as authorities prepare a report for the coroner.
M25 Closure Causes Traffic Chaos
The motorway was shut for several hours to allow emergency services to deal with the scene and carry out investigations.
The road has now reopened, but drivers are urged to stay alert while passing through the area as traffic slowly returns to normal.
