Armed Police Snatch Man in Sydenham Over Moped Knife Scare
Armed cops swooped in Sydenham after residents spotted two men riding a moped armed with knives. The dramatic arrest unfolded on Sydenham Road, SE26, at exactly 4:02pm last Friday, 28 February.

The Metropolitan Police deployed Armed Response Officers straight away. Within just 30 minutes, officers had nabbed a male suspect on suspicion of carrying an offensive weapon. He was hauled into police custody where he remains as investigations roll on.
Police Confirm No Injuries, Probe Continues
A police spokesperson said: “Police were called to Sydenham Road, SE26, at 16:02hrs on Friday, 28, following reports of two people on a moped carrying knives. Armed Response Officers attended and arrested a man within 30 minutes on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon. He remains in custody, and enquiries are ongoing.”
Thankfully, no injuries have been reported. Authorities have reassured the public as the probe into the incident continues.
