Paedophile Jailed After Downloading Thousands of Child Abuse Images

Paul Redford Busted in Online Sting

Paul Redford, 64, from Ramsgate, has been locked up for downloading and sharing thousands of sickening indecent images of children. The vile offender joined a social media app in 2022 specifically to access and distribute these horrific files.

Kent Police Crack Down on Child Exploitation

On 1 March 2024, Kent Police’s Paedophile Online Investigation Team swooped on Redford’s home following a tip-off. Once confronted, he immediately admitted his guilt. Police seized his phone and found:

  • 730 category A (most serious) images and videos
  • 642 category B images and videos
  • 944 category C images and videos
  • Distributed 40 images and videos via social media

Sentenced to Two Years and Locked Up

Redford pleaded guilty to making, distributing indecent images and possessing extreme pornography and banned items. On 6 March 2025 at Canterbury Crown Court, he was sentenced to two years and four months behind bars.

He also received a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and must comply with strict sex offender notification rules for a decade.

Police Warn: These Crimes Destroy Real Lives

“The children depicted in these images are real victims,” said Detective Constable Annalisa Bevans. “Redford was complicit in their abuse by viewing and sharing these images for sexual gratification. Our investigations aim to protect vulnerable children by rooting out offenders who exploit them online.”

“The jail time and court orders will stop Redford from ever accessing or spreading these disgusting images again.”
