Two People Hospitalised After Serious Crash in Sydenham

Two people have been taken to hospital following a road traffic collision in Sydenham that led to the temporary closure of a major road.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 6:45pm on Sunday (16 March) after the crash occurred at the junction of Wells Park Road and Longton Avenue in SE26.

Paramedics from London Ambulance Service arrived swiftly and provided treatment to two injured individuals at the scene before transporting them to hospital for further care. The extent of their injuries has not yet been confirmed.

A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said:
We were called at 6.45pm on Sunday 16 March to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Wells Park Road and Longton Avenue, SE26. We sent ambulance crews to the scene and treated two patients before taking them to hospital.”

Road Closure and Investigation

Following the crash, Wells Park Road was closed for several hours to allow for crash investigation work. According to reports from the AA, the road remained shut for approximately 12 hours, but it is no longer reported as closed as of Monday morning.

The Metropolitan Police were contacted for further details regarding the incident and investigation, but have not yet issued a statement.
