Two Men Jailed for Burglary and Weapons Offences in Grays

Two men have been sentenced to lengthy prison terms after being convicted of a violent aggravated burglary in Grays, Essex, which also involved firearms and bladed weapons.

Hassan Mansary, 27, from Peckham, has been jailed for 11 years, while Solwazi Asante, 19, from Watford, has received a 9-year prison sentence for their roles in the serious criminal offences.

The sentencing follows a joint investigation by Essex Police and specialist firearms officers, who arrested the pair after a burglary that escalated into a violent confrontation.

Serious Charges and Convictions

Mansary pleaded guilty to multiple serious offences, including:

  • Aggravated burglary
  • Grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent
  • Possession of a knife or bladed article
  • Possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life
  • Possession of ammunition for a firearm without a certificate

Asante was also convicted of the following charges:

  • Aggravated burglary
  • Possession of a knife or bladed article
  • Possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life
  • Possession of ammunition for a firearm without a certificate

The case involved a targeted attack, during which the suspects entered a property in Grays armed with weapons. The incident resulted in serious injuries to one victim and left the community deeply shaken.

Strong Sentences Reflect Gravity of Crimes

The court heard how the offenders posed a significant threat to public safety, and the judge imposed strong custodial sentences to reflect the seriousness of the crimes and deter similar offences in future.

Local residents have welcomed the sentences, praising law enforcement for bringing the offenders to justice and highlighting the importance of tackling violent crime and weapon-related offences.

Police Statement Expected

Essex Police is expected to issue a full statement on the case and commend the work of officers involved in the investigation and arrest of the two men.

More updates will follow as the case progresses and authorities continue their efforts to reduce serious crime across the region.
