Deliberate Fire at Derelict Building in Northfleet Extinguished by Firefighters – UKNIP

Kent Fire and Rescue Service tackled a blaze at a derelict building in Wallis Park, Northfleet, on Tuesday afternoon (April 15), in an incident believed to have been started deliberately.

Fire crews were called to the scene at 3:42pm, following reports of smoke issuing from the disused structure. Two fire engines responded, with firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using a high-pressure hose reel jet to bring the flames under control.

The operation concluded at 12:57am on Wednesday morning (April 16).

No injuries were reported, but the fire is being treated as suspicious. The cause is believed to be deliberate, and investigations are likely to follow.

Residents nearby reported seeing smoke and emergency services in the area for several hours. The incident has raised concerns about the safety of derelict buildings and the potential risks they pose to communities.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service is urging anyone with information about the fire to contact the authorities or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
