Major Search after Submerged Car Found in Eling Tide Mill near Southampton

A major multi agency search was sparked in Totton on Monday evening after a car was found submerged in the water. Police,Hampshire Fire, South Central ambulance Service, the Uk Coastguard, the Calshot RNLI lifeboat and a Coastguard Rescue Helicopter where all scrambled to Eling Lane. Specialist Coastguard teams worked with the fire and ambulance services using FLAIR camera to search for the missing occupants of the Silver Vauxhall astra. It is understood that the vehicle had been stolen in a dwelling burglary earlier in the day and a short police chase followed. Fire crews from St Mary’s,Redbridge and Fareham  attended the incident along with the Hart Team from South central ambulance service. A Coastguard search and rescue from Southampton also assisted in the two hour search along the shore line. An RNLI lifeboat carried out a sea search after the submerged vehicle was reported to the Police. Despite the no one was found in the vehicle and Fire crews helped to recover the vehicle.   [ytp_video source=”AhpLmald2mI”]
