Shocking late-night punch attack on woman outside Hackney bar

Just after 1am on Sunday, 13 September, a 25-year-old woman was enjoying a smoke outside a bar on Kingsland Road, Hackney. Suddenly, a man approached her, attempting to start a conversation. She ignored him.

After a brief exchange of words, the situation turned violent. The man leapt over a fence and launched a sudden assault, punching the woman multiple times in the face before fleeing the scene.

Victim left with serious cheek injury

The victim was rushed to hospital with a deep cut to her cheek. Police have confirmed no arrests have been made so far.

PC Kyri Soupashis, leading the investigation for the Central East Command Unit, said:

“While the image isn’t crystal clear, I’m certain someone will recognise this man and help us identify him. This was a cowardly and frightening attack, and it’s vital we catch the culprit.”
