Fatal Crash on A5 Near Gailey Shuts Road

A deadly smash on the A5 near Gailey has left one man dead this morning (10 November). Emergency crews rushed to the scene at 11.40am after reports of a crash involving a heavy goods vehicle and a Peugeot 308.

Man, 59, Dies at Scene

Tragically, the Peugeot’s 59-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The collision happened between Stretton and Gailey, close to the Ivy House Lane junction.

Road Closed as Police Investigate

The A5 remains closed in both directions and is expected to stay shut for some time as the Staffordshire and West Midlands Serious Collision Investigation Unit probe the fatal incident.
