Harsh Attack on A6 in Mountsorrel
The shocking case unfolded on 17 September 2020. At 10:45am, passersby found 19-year-old Angel Lynn lying seriously injured on the A6 near Mountsorrel. Passengers driving past had reported seeing something suspicious in the road to the police control room, unaware of the full horror.
Angel was rushed to hospital by paramedics, but despite intensive treatment, she now faces life-changing injuries and will require constant care.
Kidnap and Attack Detail Revealed
Investigators uncovered that Angel had been forced into a silver transit van on Loughborough Road moments before being found injured. Bowskill, her boyfriend from Empingham Drive, dragged Angel back into the van after she exited it. Sansome was behind the wheel when the vehicle sped away.
During the drive along the A6, Angel managed to escape from the van but was left seriously hurt. Both men were swiftly arrested at the scene.
Detective Chief Inspector Calls it Devastating
“Angel is a young woman who had plans and aspirations in place and the rest of her life to look forward to. Because of the extent of her injuries she now faces constant medical treatment and round the clock care,” said Detective Chief Inspector Tony Yarwood.
“Her family remain devastated by what has happened, and I praise the strength and bravery they have shown and continue to demonstrate to this day. No verdict or subsequent sentence can make up for the quality of life this young woman has lost.”
