A man was rushed to hospital after being struck by a train at Holborn Underground station in central London on Monday morning. Emergency services swarmed the busy Kingsway station at 9:55am after reports of a person on the tracks.
Massive Response from Ambulance Crews
The London Ambulance Service deployed multiple units including an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response officer, and a Hazardous Area Response Team member. Even London’s Air Ambulance was scrambled to the scene.
“We treated a man at the scene and took him by road to a major trauma centre,” confirmed a London Ambulance Service spokesperson.
Police Confirm No Suspicious Circumstances
British Transport Police arrived shortly after 10am alongside paramedics. A spokesperson said:
“Paramedics also attended, and a person was taken to hospital with injuries that are not thought to be life-changing or life-threatening. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.”
