Racist Attack Outside Aberystwyth Nightclub Leaves Victim 'Constantly Frightened'
Open-Palm Slap and Racist Abuse Caught on CCTV
In April, 25-year-old Hefin Parker of Aberystwyth unleashed a shocking assault on Morris Pleasure—known as Mo—right outside the town’s Royal Pier nightclub. CCTV footage captured Parker delivering an open-palm slap to Mr Pleasure while hurling racist insults about his skin colour.
Victim Fears for Safety After Brutal Attack
Mr Pleasure, who had moved to Aberystwyth just two years prior, was waiting in line to get into the club when the attack happened. At Aberystwyth Magistrates’ Court, he revealed how the incident has left him “constantly frightened.”
“I am constantly on guard and apprehensive,” Mr Pleasure said in a victim impact statement. “I’m even questioning whether relocating to Aberystwyth was the right choice.”
Offender Receives 20-Week Sentence
Parker was handed a 20-week sentence, to run concurrently with another sentence he is already serving. He also had to pay court fees. In court, Parker expressed regret and apologised for his behaviour, but the impact on the victim remains stark.
