Chaos on the M2: Second Crash Sparks Major Clear-Up
Hours after reopening, the London-bound M2 in Kent is once again in chaos. A major clear-up operation is underway near Medway services, following a fresh crash on the same stretch that was shut for nearly 10 hours after a fatal smash close to Sittingbourne.
Van Overturns, Barriers Wrecked
A long wheelbase grey Ford Transit van flipped onto its roof after smashing into barriers and roadside furniture. Emergency services had to close the motorway briefly to tend to the driver, who miraculously escaped serious injury.
Long Delays as National Highways Clear the Mess
Traffic is crawling as National Highways and contractors work hard to clear the wreckage. Damaged barriers, trees, and mud are being removed from the carriageway and hard shoulder. Part of the hard shoulder remains cordoned off while the clean-up continues.
