People-Smuggling Boss Busted in NCA Sting
A 44-year-old man has been charged with conspiracy to aid illegal immigration in a major National Crime Agency operation yesterday.
Jetmir Myrtaj Arrested in Nottingham
Jetmir Myrtaj, formerly of 1 but now with no fixed address, was hauled in by officers probing a people-smuggling ring moving migrants from Belgium to the UK in small boats. He appeared in Nottingham magistrates court today after his evening charge.
Boat Seized in Brightlingsea Raid
Police also confiscated a boat in the Essex town of Brightlingsea, believed to be used in the smuggling operations. Four more men linked to the gang are set to face Nottingham Crown Court on March 29 for their alleged involvement.
