Man Arrested After Stabbing in Sneinton

Police were called to Dale Street, Sneinton, just before 10.50am on Sunday (9 April 2023) following reports of a stabbing.

Quick Arrest After Serious Incident

Officers swiftly launched an investigation and soon arrested a 20-year-old man. Joseph Easom-Cooper, from Dale Street, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, carrying a bladed article in public, and possession of cannabis.

Victim Stable but Hospitalised

The victim, a man in his 40s, remains in hospital. Police say his injuries are serious but not life-changing.

Police Confirm No Wider Threat

Detective Sergeant Andy Buxton said: “Thanks to the hard work of our detectives and officers, we have charged a man in connection with this incident. The victim remains in hospital with injuries not thought to be life-altering. We believe this was a self-contained incident and there is no wider risk to the public.”

“I am pleased we have made a charge as our investigation continues.”

Easom-Cooper has been remanded in custody and will appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Tuesday 11 April 2023).
