Victim Held Hostage for Eight Hours in Shocking Luton Kidnap
Idnan Akbar, Safed Rafiq, and Dawud Safeer locked their victim in a bedroom of a Luton house for up to eight harrowing hours. The man was held against his will while enduring terrifying abuse.
Police Raid Uncovers Drug Den and Weapons
Officers swarmed the property shortly after the ordeal was reported. A staggering 123 police arrived to find 13 men and two women inside. All were arrested on charges including kidnapping.
The scene revealed widespread drug use, along with knives and machetes scattered throughout the house.
Victim’s Brutal Injuries Demand Surgery
The victim was found trapped upstairs, immediately telling officers he’d been kidnapped. He is still recovering and faces corrective bone surgery due to his injuries.
Detective Condemns ‘Inhumane and Barbaric’ Attack
“These three men have subjected the victim to unimaginable cruelty,” said Safed Rafiq, 37, of Claremont Road.
“Their actions are vile, inhumane, and barbaric. This is the most disturbing and grotesque incident I have ever come across as a police officer.
“Evil like this should be behind bars. I hope these significant sentences will bring some sense of justice for the victim and his loved ones.
“The details of this case will undoubtedly shock people, but fortunately this kind of barbarism is incredibly rare.
“I am pleased to say the victim is receiving the physical and emotional support needed to recover from something I’m sure will stay with him for life.”
