Milton Keynes Worker Caught Stealing £1 Million in Car Parts

A Milton Keynes distribution centre worker has been slammed with jail time after being caught red-handed stealing car parts worth around £1 million. Konrad Labinski, 41, was arrested on March 7 while trying to swipe even more goods straight from his workplace.

Thames Valley Police launched a swift probe after reports of missing stock on March 4. Their investigation tracked the stolen parts to an eBay account selling the pilfered loot.

Over 1,000 Stolen Car Parts Found at His Home

A quick search of Labinski’s Padstowe Avenue residence uncovered more than 1,000 car parts ransacked from the company, all valued at about £1 million. The thefts are believed to have gone on for two years.

All recovered items have now been returned to the rightful company. Labinski, a 20-year veteran employee, pleaded guilty to theft by employee on April 25 but kept mum during police questioning.

Harsh Jail Sentence Sends Warning to Others

“He abused the trust that was given to him to steal from them,” said Detective Constable Vince Higgins of Milton Keynes CID. “He went from a well-paid job with perks to prison, losing his job and company car.

This case shows the courts take employee theft very seriously. We hope this sends a clear message to others thinking of committing similar crimes.”
