Another day, another disgraceful scene as British holidaymakers go wild in Thailand. This time, two blokes launched a violent attack on a 44-year-old German tourist outside The Godfather Bar on Pattaya’s infamous Walking Street. The trouble kicked off shortly after 2am when the Brits started jeering about winning both World Wars – and things quickly turned nasty.
Boozy Bragging Sparks Brutal Beating
Marcello, a German man with serious health issues, was mocked and then savagely punched outside the bar. His Thai girlfriend, May Srinateetundorn, 31, jumped in to help. The couple had been sitting quietly when the British men, clearly on the booze (and possibly drugs), began taunting them.
“My boyfriend, Marcello, is 44 and not very physically strong. He has an enlarged left side of his heart and fibrosis in his right lung,” said May. “He looks fragile but still approached the men. They smiled like they wanted a fight, then one punched him right in the face.”
Pattaya Police on the Hunt
Local cops are now chasing the culprits. With Marcello seriously ill, this attack could have dire consequences. May added, “I told him not to get involved, but he tried to be civil. It all went horribly wrong.” Thailand’s government has repeatedly tried to clean up Pattaya’s reputation, pushing family-friendly tourism, but the city’s wild nightlife often erupts into chaos. Sadly, these efforts seem to fall flat every few years.
Get Well Soon, Marcello!
While authorities seek the British attackers, Marcello focuses on recovery. Let’s hope he gets the care he needs after this brutal assault.
