Police have launched a murder investigation after a man’s body was found inside a white Ford Transit van in Leicester on 27 May, with detectives believing he was killed 100 miles away in London. Scotland Yard have taken over the case, following the arrest of a 39-year-old woman in the capital on suspicion of murder.

Grim Discovery In Leicester

Terrified locals spotted the suspicious van parked on Garden Street and alerted authorities.

Officers forced entry into the vehicle and found the lifeless man inside. A large police cordon was set up as forensic teams searched the scene for clues.

London Arrest And New Crime

Less than 48 hours later, on 29 May, a woman was arrested in London. The Met Police established the primary crime scene at a home in Hounslow, where they believe the murder took place, shifting the investigation focus to the capital.

Ongoing Police Appeal

Detective Chief Inspector Alex Gammampila is leading the inquiry, with teams urgently seeking information.

Police have appealed for anyone who saw the white Transit van travelling between London and Leicester, or parked on Garden Street, to provide dashcam or CCTV footage.
