Knife-Wielding Youth Targets Hero Police Dog
In the early hours of Saturday, November 14, a police dog was viciously attacked with a knife in Handsworth, Birmingham. The incident unfolded around 4am on Larch Avenue after the dog and his handler, PC Paul Hopley, were called to tackle a break-in at local allotments.
Hero Dog Stark Bites Back Despite Head Wound
Police dog Stark was slashed across the head but didn’t back down. He bit the offender on the leg, helping officers nab the culprit. The attacker, a 16-year-old boy, was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police dog and possession of an offensive weapon.
Two Suspects Still on the Run – Police Seek Info
The youth was taken to hospital for checks and will be held in custody. Meanwhile, two other suspects escaped the scene.
