A major emergency response is under way on the Central line in west London after a casualty was reported on the track.
Transport for London has confirmed there is no service between Northolt and West Ruislip, with minor delays affecting the remainder of the Central line while emergency services deal with the incident.
Residents reported seeing a significant number of police, ambulance and fire crews around the South Ruislip and Northolt area, with an air ambulance also reported nearby.
Passengers have described being removed from trains and stations while emergency services gained access to the railway.
Social media reports suggest a person may have been struck by, or gone under, a train, although the precise circumstances and the casualty’s condition have not yet been officially confirmed.
TfL’s official description at this stage is that emergency services are dealing with a “casualty on the track.”
Passengers travelling towards West Ruislip are facing disruption, with services unable to operate through the affected section.
Tickets are being accepted on London Buses via reasonable alternative routes.
Emergency crews remain at the scene and passengers are advised to check their journeys before travelling.
This is a developing incident and further information will be published when confirmed by the emergency services.
