A man who tragically lost his life in a crash on the A90 in Aberdeenshire has been identified as 77-year-old Frederick Menzies. The incident occurred on Wednesday, 28 June, 2023, approximately one mile south of St Fergus. Mr Menzies was driving a blue Kia Ceed car when it collided with a white Citroen Relay van.
Emergency services were called to the scene around 15.15 BST but sadly, Mr Menzies was pronounced dead at the site of the collision. The female driver of the van, aged 60, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.
In a statement, the family of Frederick Menzies expressed their grief and requested privacy during this difficult time. They described him as a loving father and husband, adored by his grandchildren.
