Man Attacked with Suspected Acid in Oldham
Shortly before 10:40pm, police were called to a chilling attack on Burlington Avenue, Oldham. A 39-year-old man was doused with a liquid believed to be acid by an unknown assailant.
Victim Targeted at Doorstep
The victim had just answered his front door when the attacker threw the substance from a bottle and fled towards Manley Road. He is thought to have arrived with another man shortly before the assault.
Serious Injuries but Stable Condition
Specialist emergency teams treated the man at the scene before rushing him to hospital with serious facial burns. Thankfully, his condition remains stable and is not life-threatening.
Police Hunt Suspect and Appeal for Information
Oldham CID detectives, working alongside Greater Manchester Fire & Rescue Service, are investigating the case. They believe the victim was deliberately targeted and knows his attacker.
