Top Cop Sacha Hatchett Takes Helm as Lancashire’s New Deputy Chief Constable

Sacha Hatchett has landed the Deputy Chief Constable role at Lancashire Police, stepping in after Terry Woods left for Greater Manchester Police. Sacha brings nearly three decades of experience, having joined the police in 1997 and served across North Wales and Cheshire.

From North Wales to Lancashire: A Career Built on Tough Policing

Previously Assistant Chief Constable at North Wales Police, Sacha has held key roles including Chief Superintendent, where she managed Local Policing Services and led Force Change Programmes. She also oversaw Roads Policing, Firearms, Operational Planning, and the Communications Centre as Head of Operational Support Services.

Her extensive crime-fighting experience includes leading the entire Crime Operations portfolio and holding the national lead for Forensic Collision Investigation.

“I am hugely proud to have served as North Wales Police’s first female Chief Officer and to have been involved in many of the Force’s developments and successes during my 24 years of service,” said Sacha.

“Now, I’m ready for fresh challenges and excited to bring my wealth of experience to Lancashire. I look forward to continuing to serve and protect local communities.”
