London rocked by deadly three-day crime spree – A 16-year-old boy was shot dead and six others stabbed in a string of violent attacks across the capital. Two victims remain in critical condition as police hunt suspects and appeal for witnesses.
Teen Shot Dead in Stockwell
On March 4, 16-year-old schoolboy Lathaniel Burrell was fatally shot on Paradise Road, Stockwell. Emergency services arrived at 3:20pm to find Lathaniel with gunshot wounds. Despite attempts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 32-year-old man was arrested for murder in Croydon on March 7. Locals described Lathaniel as a “very nice boy” who had “got in with the wrong crowd.” Witnesses say the gunmen posed as delivery drivers before the attack.
Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee: “This horrendous crime has shocked the local community and beyond. We are examining CCTV, collecting witness statements, and engaging with schools. We need the public’s help – no matter how small the detail.”
Knife Attacks in Croydon and Swiss Cottage
- March 4, 9:52pm – A 19-year-old man was stabbed on George Street, Croydon. He was hospitalised with non-life-threatening injuries. Two men in their 20s were arrested for grievous bodily harm and remain in custody.
- March 4, just before 12:55pm – A 12-year-old boy was stabbed in a brawl at The UCL Academy on Adelaide Road, Swiss Cottage. Treated at hospital, his injuries are non-life-threatening. Two 14-year-olds were arrested for GBH and possession of an offensive weapon.
Critical Stabbings in Harrow and Ruislip
- March 5, 4pm – A 15-year-old boy is fighting for life after a triple stabbing on Northolt Road, Harrow. Two 16-year-olds were also hurt but have since been discharged. A 16-year-old suspect was arrested overnight on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
- March 6, 4:55pm – A 16-year-old boy was stabbed on Victoria Road near Queens Walk, Ruislip, and is in critical condition. A 19-year-old man was arrested in connection with the attack.
London’s Rising Tide of Youth Violence
These savage attacks highlight a worrying spike in youth violence and gang-related crime across London. Police urge anyone with information to come forward to prevent more tragedies.
