Man Fights for Life After Stabbing in Orpington Brawl
A man is in critical condition after being stabbed during a violent scuffle in Orpington in the early hours of Monday morning.
Knife Attack Erupts on Star Lane
The clash involving two men broke out just before 4:20 am on February 26 in Star Lane. Police arrived swiftly to find one man on the ground with serious stab wounds to his chest.
Emergency teams treated him at the scene before rushing him to hospital. His injuries are believed to be life-threatening.
Police Suspect Self-Inflicted Stab Wounds
Officers from the Metropolitan Police are investigating the incident but suspect the stabbing was self-inflicted rather than an attack by the other man involved.
“At approximately 04:16hrs, police were called to Star Lane, Orpington to reports of two men fighting,” a Met spokesperson said. “One man was found with stab injuries to his chest. These are believed to be self-inflicted. He was treated at the scene and taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.”
Star Lane remains partially cordoned off while detectives piece together exactly what happened. No arrests have been made so far.
