Elderly Woman Stabbed to Death in Thornton Heath – Man Arrested
Tragic Night in Croydon
Police have launched a murder probe after an 89-year-old woman was found stabbed at a home in Brigstock Road, Thornton Heath. Emergency services were called to the scene just after 9.20pm on Tuesday, 21 June.
Man in 30s Arrested Nearby
Officers and paramedics rushed to the residential address where the elderly woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Shortly after, a man in his 30s was arrested at another Croydon location in connection with the incident.
Investigation Underway
The woman’s family have been informed and are being supported by specialists. Formal identification and a post-mortem are set to be carried out. Police say the victim and the arrested man are believed to have known each other.
Detectives are not looking for anyone else in connection with the stabbing. They urge anyone with information to call 101, quoting reference 7790/21jun.
