31-Year-Old Driver Busted with Cargo of Cocaine
Just before 10pm on Thursday, 1 October, officers from the Met’s Specialist Crime North East unit stopped a vehicle between junctions 24 and 25 in Enfield. A 31-year-old man behind the wheel was immediately arrested.
During a search of the car’s boot, officers found a large holdall filled with 30 one-kilogram blocks of suspected cocaine, each loaded with an estimated street value that adds up to £3 million.
‘Tireless’ Cops Strike Blow Against London’s Drug Supply
“This was a significant seizure of Class A drugs and a great example of how officers are tirelessly working to disrupt the supply of drugs,” said Detective Inspector Niall McSheffrey.
“Those involved in drug supply show little regard for the chaos or violence they cause. Seizures like this prevent harmful substances from hitting London’s streets and damaging communities.”
The driver remains in police custody, and the haul is undergoing specialist analysis to confirm its contents.
