Man Fatally Stabbed as Nine Others Hurt in Croydon Knife Rampage

A deadly wave of stabbings rocked Croydon, South London, tonight. One man was killed, and nine others wounded across five separate attacks.

Multiple Stabbings Spark Police Hunt

Police rushed to five scenes from early evening, responding to frantic calls about stabbings across the borough. The first call came at 18:56 to Chapman Road, where a man was found with non-life-threatening injuries.

Moments later, four men in their 20s arrived at a south London hospital with slash and stab wounds. One remains in critical condition.

At 20:08, officers responded to Wisbeach Road. Two men were stabbed; one taken to hospital, the other tragically died at the scene. Next of kin have been informed.

Shortly after, at 20:51, two more males presented at hospital with stab wounds. One is also in life-threatening condition.

Police also attended Dingwall Road at 21:12 following a stabbing. A male suspect was arrested for GBH, while the victim was also detained. The victim’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police Crack Down with Stop and Search Order

Detective Superintendent Nicky Arrowsmith slammed the violence as “needless and completely abhorrent,” saying the loss of life is “tragic.”

She confirmed extra police patrols will flood Croydon overnight. The Violent Crime Taskforce and Territorial Support Group have been deployed.

A Section 60 Order is now in place, giving police extended stop and search powers across Croydon until 08:00 on Saturday, 6 February.

Investigations Underway — Links Unknown

Police are probing each stabbing, but so far have found no evidence the incidents are connected.
