Terrifying Attack on 11-Year-Old Girl at Sussex Ring Bus Stop
A chilling incident unfolded at around 4pm on 30 September when an 11-year-old girl was followed from school to a bus stop at Sussex Ring, N12.
Lone Suspect Tries to Lure Girl Into Park
After other passengers boarded buses, the girl was left alone with a man at the westbound stop towards Mill Hill or Whetstone. The suspect, described as a 30-40-year-old with pale skin, brown eyes, and messy shoulder-length hair, wearing blue jeans and black trainers, started chatting and asked about bus routes.
He then urged her to go to the nearby park. When she refused, he grabbed her wrists and tried to pull her away, threatening her with a knife.
Grotesque Assault by Canal Ends as Attacker Flees
The man led the terrified girl down towards the canal and behind a tree, took her phone, grabbed her wrist again, and kissed her before fleeing the scene.
Police Appeal for Witnesses to Step Forward
Detective Constable Chris Finnegan from the North West Command Unit said: “This was a frightening attack on a young girl who has been tremendously brave in coming forward.
“Sexual assaults of this nature remain very rare, but we are committed to supporting victims and catching those responsible.”
“We urge anyone with information to contact police immediately.”
