Police Seal Off M27 Embankment Near Southampton in Murder Probe
Police have cordoned off a large stretch of motorway embankment near Southampton amid a serious murder investigation. The westbound carriageway of the M27 between junctions 5 and 7 is partially closed as officers scour the area.
Massive Police Operation Underway
Road cones block off the area from junctions 7 and 8 at Hedge End. A heavy police presence includes a van parked within the sealed-off zone. Officers have been seen combing through nearby grassland and a stream as part of their investigation.
Tragic Death of Young Southampton Man
The clampdown follows the discovery of 21-year-old Shkelzen “Genny” Dauti’s body in Gilpin Close, Southampton. The young man suffered a fatal stab wound to the chest, prompting Hampshire Constabulary to launch a murder probe.
“We are making every effort to ensure there is minimal disruption to road users,” Hampshire Constabulary said, confirming that specialist officers will remain on site today and tomorrow.
Three Arrested Over Murder
On Saturday, March 11, police arrested a 30-year-old woman, a 27-year-old man, and a 28-year-old man in connection with the killing. The investigation is ongoing, and officers are urging anyone with information to come forward.
