Man in His 30s Dies After Violent Brawl Outside Bodmin Nightclub

A man in his 30s has died and seven others were injured following a serious fight outside the Eclipse Nightclub in Bodmin, Cornwall.

Knife Attack Sparks Police Siege

Police were called to Victoria Square on Castle Canyke Road at 3:15am on Sunday 30 April after reports of a stabbing during a violent altercation. Officers have been at the scene since the early hours.

  • The deceased man was pronounced dead on site.
  • Seven other men and women were injured, but none with life-threatening wounds.
  • All injured were rushed to hospital for treatment.
  • A 24-year-old man from Bodmin has been arrested on suspicion of murder, attempted murder, and grievous bodily harm with intent.

Police Launch Major Crime Investigation

“Following an incident in Bodmin last night, a man in his 30s has been confirmed deceased and officers are supporting his next of kin,” said Detective Inspector Ilona Rosson.

“We are treating this as an isolated incident and not seeking anyone else in connection. This is a live investigation. Please do not speculate on social media. If you have info, contact us.”

East Cornwall Policing Superintendent Rob Youngman said: “Expect a heightened police presence in Bodmin while we carry out enquiries. Our thoughts are with the families affected.”
