Drugs Stash Found Hidden in Oven During Newark Police Raid

Police swooped on a house in Barnby Gate, Newark, uncovering a shocking drugs haul hidden right under their noses—in the oven.

Planned Raid Nets Cannabis, Class A Drugs, Cash, and Phones

The crackdown came after officers from Nottinghamshire Police’s Newark and Sherwood Operation Reacher team executed a warrant, acting on intel about possible drug activity at the property.

After forcing entry, the team searched the home thoroughly. They found a bag stuffed with multiple cannabis buds concealed inside the oven. Alongside that were suspected Class A drugs, stacks of cash, several mobile phones, and drug paraphernalia.

Police Crackdown: “This Type of Offending Is a Blight on Society”

PC Mike Weston said: “As a direct result of this operation, we were able to seize and destroy quantities of suspected Class A and B drugs.”

“We don’t want those involved in potential drug activity operating in our communities, and we know that people living in these areas don’t want that either.”

“This type of offending is a blight on society and brings nothing but trouble, which is precisely why we work so hard to identify this activity and to take these drugs away from our streets.”

Police Urge Public to Help Crack Case

PC Weston added that warrants like this rely heavily on community information. Anyone with details is urged to contact police on 101, quoting incident 106 of 23 March 2023.
