A drug dealer from Tunbridge Wells, who attempted to evade police by giving a false name and pretending to be Greek, has been sentenced to three years and six months in prison. Kenado Boja, 21, was caught by local officers on 2 February 2024 when they stopped his Ford Fiesta on Calverley Street, suspecting it was involved in drug supply.

When questioned by officers, Boja appeared nervous and presented a Greek identity card, claiming he was moving the vehicle for a friend. Upon searching the car, officers discovered several deals of cocaine hidden inside a vape and two further bags of the drug within the vehicle. Boja was detained, and upon his arrest, he admitted to providing false details.

The drugs found in the car were tested and valued at an estimated £400 to £500. Further investigation led officers to a temporary address used by Boja in Tunbridge Wells, where they discovered a safe containing around 50 wraps of cocaine with a street value of between £2,100 and £2,700. Officers also seized digital scales and £613 in cash.

Boja, who resides on Great Western Road in Isleworth, London, was charged and later pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court to possessing cocaine with intent to supply and possession of a false identity document with intent. On 15 October, he was sentenced to a total of three years and six months’ imprisonment. The court also ordered the forfeiture of the seized cash and the Ford Fiesta, which was used in the commission of the crime.

Investigating officer PC Taiya Patching commented: “Dealers who travel to west Kent to deal class A drugs are easily spotted by the local officers, after which it is only a matter of time before they are arrested. This particular offender sought to give a false name, but the constables quickly saw through his deception. They also tracked down a temporary address he was using in Tunbridge Wells, where a considerable number of cocaine deals were located along with the cash he had made from his criminal enterprise. He has now lost the profit he made as well as his car and, quite rightly, is starting a prison sentence.”
