A Poole motorist turned heads – and raised eyebrows – by decking out their car with Christmas decorations well before December. But instead of festive cheers, the driver got a hefty warning from police for breaking the rules.
Festive Flair Doesn’t Fly with the Law
While on patrol, Sergeants Sam and Matt spotted the eye-catching vehicle. They stopped the driver and hit them with some straight talk about road safety and traffic laws.
Police Warn: Lights on Cars Are No Joke
“The driver was stopped and given words of advice about the traffic offences he was committing and also reminded about the seriousness of celebrating Christmas before December. Displaying a red light to the front of a vehicle, or other colours to the rear that aren’t listed in the Road Traffic Regulations, is an offence and can land you with a £50 fine. Whilst this vehicle might look ‘sleigh’, the actions of this driver could land him on the naughty list.”
Dorset Police have made it clear: decking your car out with unauthorised festive lights isn’t just cheeky – it’s illegal. A quick festive warning for this early Christmas enthusiast!
